A Phat Wait

My months-long wait,
Has left me with weight,
Along my
Midsection

Fries, ice cream, and other bad food,
Sits, no longer removed,
By my
Cycling

Depression, it’s a motherfucker,
Angry, impatient, a bloodsucker,
Tears roll
Down

Buckle it on, saddle it up,
Runneth over, my earthly cup
I ride
Away

From the looming threat,
To another mindset,
Only presence
Exists

There, I am free
The air, so feathery
My wheels
Spin

Eventually, I must return,
But what I have learned,
My mindfulness
Remains

Use it, or lose it,
Whose fault? The view’s shit,
Awaken, the
Dream

Eyes open, I wait
To lose this extra weight,
No more
Phat

Cycling gets me there,
Splendid, this affair,
Breathe, I’m
I

Join me for the ride,
Your revolution cannot hide,
From mindful
Scrutiny

Let’s get uncomfortable
Make ourselves more vulnerable,
Grow as
Individuals

Then, we can see,
Our appearance doesn’t guarantee,
Any more
Happiness

But, health is important,
And the only sure constant,
Is we
Die

Let’s give Death the finger,
Go away, don’t linger
You stupid
Motherfucker

We have the power,
Look ahead, don’t cower
Seek your
Revolution
