An Ode to My Rocky Mountain

Every time we ride our bikes, they increasingly become an extension of our body. We learn their ins and outs.

We get to know their personalities, and acquaint ourselves with their strengths and weaknesses. Over time, we come to think of them as close friends. Family, even.

It’s for these reasons that I’m a bit melancholic about selling my Rocky Mountain Thunderbolt this morning. It was a great bike that took me on many adventures over six years, but spent most of its time gathering dust recently.

Granted, it went to a great home, but it’ll be sorely missed.

In its honor, here are some clips from our last ride together.

RIP (rip in perpetuity) my loyal friend. May you create many wonderful memories for your new owner.
